
Rafting Guides Courses and Assessments
Rafting Guides, Trip Leaders and Whitewater Rescue Courses will be organizing and hosted from Adventure Net in early spring time. If you already have some experience you will be able to sign up directly for the IRF assessment/certification exam. Below you will find detailed information about the courses.

Dates: 23rd of March 2019 – 30 March 2019
Location: Struma river, Kresna Gorge, Simitli-Kresna, Bulgaria
Instructors:
Davor Kos, Croatia – IRF instructor, class 4.
Alexandar Pastir, Bosnia and Herzegovina- IRF instructor, class 3, Whitewater & Swiftwater Rescue 3 Instructor.

Course I: Rescue 3 Europe Whitewater Rescue Technician Professional (WRT-PRO)
Dates: 23-26 March 2019 Duration: 4 days
3 days of intense internationally recognised Whitewater rescue for river professionals, which will finish with exam on Day 4.

Price: 200 Euro
Minimum age required: 18 years old. All candidates should be confident swimmers with white water experience (raft guide, kayaking etc.)
Course II: Rafting guide & Trip leader Training workshop, IRF
Dates: 27-30 March 2019 Duration: 4 days
During the workshop you will get the opportunity to train and to be assessed for Raft guide and Trip leader.

Price: 150 Euro
Minimum age required: 18 years old. All candidates will need to provide a full valid first aid certificate including CPR. All candidates will also need to provide up to date logbook or experience letter (if available).
Course III: Rescue 3 + IRF Guide & Trip Leader workshop
Dates: 23-30 March 2019 Duration: 8 days
Intensive 8-day course that will give you the opportunity to gain some excellent training & experience.
Price: 300 Euro
Minimum age required: 18 years old. All candidates will need to provide a full valid first aid certificate including CPR. All candidates will also need to provide up to date logbook or experience letter.
IRF assessment (only exam)
Date: 29-30 March 2019
Assessment for raft guides and trip leaders in the last day of the course.
Price: 50 Euro

Additional information
An additional tax of 30 euro should be paid on spot for logistic costs.
The prices does not include the following:
– Travel to & from Adventure net rafting center
– Food & Accommodation (available through Adventure net rafting center)
– IRF Admin fees
– Personal travel & medical insurance
Each participant should have:
– First aid certification
– Full equipment (paddle, helmet, life jacket, throw bag, knife, and flip-line). If you need any equipment, we can provide it upon request in advance.

The Whitewater Rescue Technician – Professional (WRT-PRO) course is designed for professional river users who require a rescue capability in a whitewater environment, e.g. raft guides, safety kayakers. Recreational paddlers should take the WRT-REC course.
International Rafting Federation Fees:
In order to be included in the IRF’s guide database and to receive an IRF Guide Card, each participant must have paid registration fee to the IRF. Guides: 60$, Trip Leaders: 90$.
Certification cards:
If you would like to be issued a certification card, you must provide your Instructor with the following:
– A digital passport style photograph
– Your date of birth
– A postal address for card to be sent
– A current Red Cross first aid certificate (FAC) or equivalent with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
– Logbook recording each run, signed by the Trip Leader or Operations Manager of the Company
Accommodation & Food during the rafting guide courses and workshops
– Tents & cabins in Adventure Net rafting base camp
– Local hotels and family houses in the nearby area
– If you need reservation or some other equipment – please contact us
– Dining options in the region – at the Adventure Net camp, local restaurants nearby, or self-catering in Kresna and Simitli shops.
